How to test the material of stainless steel wire mesh

Stainless steel wire mesh has good corrosion resistance, high temperature oxidation resistance, good low temperature performance and excellent mechanical and r performance. Therefore, it is widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, power, nuclear engineering, aerospace, ocean, medicine, light industry, textile and other departments. Its main purpose is to prevent corrosion and rust. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel mainly depends on the surface passivation film. If the film is incomplete or defective, stainless steel will still be corroded.

In engineering, pickling and passivation treatment is usually carried out to maximize the corrosion resistance potential of stainless steel. Surface oil, rust, non-metallic dirt, low melting point metal pollutants, paint, welding slag and spatter, etc. It affects the surface quality of stainless steel equipment and components, destroys the oxide film on the surface, reduces the general corrosion resistance and local corrosion resistance of steel, and even leads to stress corrosion cracking.

Stainless steel wire mesh surface cleaning, pickling and passivation, in addition to maximizing corrosion resistance, also has the effect of preventing product pollution and obtaining aesthetics. In GBl50-1998 "Steel Pressure Vessels", it is stipulated that "the surface of the container made of stainless steel and composite steel plate with anti-corrosion requirements should be pickled and passivated".

This regulation is for the pressure vessels used in petrochemical industry, because these equipment are used in the occasions that are directly in contact with the corrosive medium. From the perspective of ensuring corrosion resistance and corrosion resistance, it is necessary to propose pickling passivation. For other industrial sectors, if it is not for anti-corrosion purposes, it is only based on the requirements of cleanliness and aesthetics, while stainless steel does not need pickling passivation. However, the welds of stainless steel equipment need to be pickled and passivated.
