The chemical formula of 201 is 1Cr17Mn6Ni5, and the chemical formula of 304 is 06Cr19Ni10; the main difference between them is nickel-chromium element, 201 is 17 chromium, 5 chromium-nickel elements and 6 manganese elements, 304 is 19 chromium elements and 10 nickel elements; So it constitutes their color, corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance, toughness and many other differences.
From the color point of view, because 201 stainless steel contains manganese, the color will be darker than 304, while 304 is whiter and brighter. In terms of corrosion resistance, because 201 contains manganese, it will rust in a humid or high-salt environment for a long time, while 304 will not rust because it does not contain manganese.
In terms of acid and alkali resistance, the acid and alkali resistance of 201 is not as good as that of 304 due to the relatively small content of nickel. In terms of durability, 304 has better resistance, 201 is harder and more brittle than 304, use a solid knife to test, there will be obvious scratches on the surface of 201, but there will be no obvious scratches on the surface of 304 mark.
